“Secret Door” started one night when everything felt too loud. I sat at the piano looking for a place to breathe. The idea was simple: a small door you can open at any time and step into a quieter room. The melody came like a whisper, two notes answering each other, and the felt kept it close and human. I left the harmony light so the pauses do some of the talking. It is a piece about patience and choosing calm when the day runs fast.

“My Piano” comes from a very real place: the vintage upright my parents somehow managed to buy when I was ten. It was a little untuned, the pedals creaked, and the wood smelled like polish and old books, and it was my first precious thing. In this piece I lean into that charming memory. It’s a small thank-you to that instrument and to my parents for opening the door of music for me.
